“We love theme parks. Always have. But we kept asking ourselves — why does the wait have to kill the magic? We knew there had to be a better way. So we stopped asking and started building.”

2012

The moment It clicked
In 2012, I set up a homemade photo booth at an event for the first time. I wanted to find out what would happen if, instead of just watching, I let guests get involved. What happened was this: people queued up. Of their own accord. For a thirty-second experience. That moment has stayed with me ever since.

From photo booths to experiences
What started as a single photo booth became SnapCube, then SnapNext. We’ve been creating interactive experiences for live events since 2012, developing our own event modules since 2015, and building our own event software since 2016. We work for brands such as Disney, Paramount and Warner Bros., at shows, tours and events across Europe. And night after night, we see the same thing: guests don’t want to be spectators. They want to be part of the story. And so we found ourselves in theme parks, from Disneyland to Movie Park.

The queue problem
There it was again, the queue. Except that nobody was waiting there of their own accord. Amusement parks invest millions in 90 seconds of fun, yet the 45 minutes leading up to it are dominated by mobile phones and impatience. Ironically, the one time when guests actually have time is being wasted: no engagement, no experience, no revenue. It was precisely for this moment that we had been developing technology for years, without even realising it.

2026

Ultido is born
In 2025, we took the plunge and built the first version of Ultido. In 2026, we spun it off into its own company: spun off from SnapNext, with a single focus: digital guest experiences for theme parks. Guests scan a QR code at the attraction, play and win real rewards – no app download required, no barriers to entry. They become part of a story, and the waiting time becomes part of the attraction. The park gains measurable enthusiasm, in-park revenue and guest contacts that it can use to bring visitors back. We’re now bringing that moment – when people waiting in queues become players – to where it belongs: to the parks around the world.
